Accommodation

In most years there is a very heavy demand for beds at the Youth Hostel for the Friday and Saturday nights and you may wish to consider one of the alternatives below. If we are unable to secure accommodation for you, you may want to consider the following. Please indicate on your application form your preferred option;

1. Putting your name on a waiting list for a bed at the hostel, pending cancellations
2. Investigating other B & B accommodation options from the following:

Entrants to the Ridgeway Walk, whether YHA members or not, can stay overnight at Streatley YH, Hill House, Reading Road, Streatley, Reading, Berks, RG8 9JJ (phone: 01491 872278) on the Friday and Saturday of the walk. Please note that the Reading Outdoor Group have taken out a group booking for the event period, so if you wish to stay please use the booking form provided. See the Streatley Map for location.

An evening meal for the Friday can be ordered in advance, or on the day provided you order it before 6pm. The meal will be served at 7pm.

If ordered in advance, packed breakfasts can be provided for consumption before the coach arrives or on the coach on Saturday morning. Tea and coffee will be available before the coach arrives.

Evening meals on the Saturday should be booked in advance but, unlike Friday night, the meals will be available as and when walkers require them between the hours of 7pm. and 10pm. Please do not book an evening meal if you think that you might finish after 10pm (also please bear in mind that you will need some time to recover before eating) .

Please indicate on the booking form if you want vegetarian meals or have any other dietary requirement.

Streatley YHA Accommodation booking can only be made by completing the entry form.

Hostel fees can be combined with entry/coach. Prices are on the entry form.
